A mini symposium and seminar focussing on green connections in the biosciences and the post-graduate journey
This half-day mini symposium will promote awareness of plant-based research and its relevance to human health, biodiversity, and sustainable development. The event will feature four eminent Sri Lankan-origin scientists:
- Arunika Gunawardene
- Rajesh Rajaselvam
- Srimal Premakumara
- Bimali Jayawardene
Each speaker will deliver a 30-minute talk followed by a Q&A session, providing participants with an opportunity to engage directly with experienced researchers.
The symposium will bring together undergraduates, postgraduates, research assistants, and early-career lecturers from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University who are interested in pursuing research in biological sciences.
The mini symposium will be from 09:00 - 12:30 (Indian Standard Time) followed by lunch and then a seminar from 14:00 - 17:00 (IST) titled The Postgraduate Journey: Planning, Applying and Succeeding.
