Talk Outline - Forensic Ecology: a valuable weapon in the forensic armoury

This talk will introduce the nature of the ecological evidence proved to be valuable in criminal investigations for over thirty years, and this will be exemplified with illustrated stories of actual cases involving violent crime.

Some ideas will be presented of the intellectual and practical adjustments needed when applying biological and ecological evidence to actual criminal casework as opposed to using such data in academic research. Emphasis will be given on the need for an holistic approach when trying to deliver intelligence to aid ongoing investigations, as well as providing evidence that will be scrutinised in the courtroom.

Chair

This webinar will be chaired by Kieran Woof MRSB — RSB Senior Science Policy Officer (Plant and Environmental Sciences)

Who should attend?

This talk would be of interest to scientists, students, and those interested in forensics, plant ecology, and cross disciplinary work.
Due to the nature of this lecture, the talk is not suitable for those under the age of 18.
