Learn teaching methods to support diverse cognitive styles
Inclusive teaching acknowledges student diversity in abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles, ensuring access to learning by removing barriers for all and enabling diverse student participation. While there has been much work developing inclusivity in curriculum design and teaching methods, there has been limited focused research and practical guidance addressing neurodiverse skills support specific.
This workshope features two talks and discussions, focusing on lived experience and cognitive diversity in scientific settings, and inclusive and accessible science education, curriculum design and assessments. The workshop aims to equip educators with teaching methods that support diverse cognitive styles, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other disabilities, and promote lab skills inclusivity for all students
