A bespoke guided tour of the Museum, suitable for all ages.
The Yorkshire Natural History Museum is a small museum encompassing Earth and Life Sciences, that is dedicated to making these disciplines as accessible as possible. It operates both as a repository for specimens, with fossils dating back millions of years, and an independent research organisation, housing one of the most well-equipped palaeontology laboratories in the country.
The visit will include a bespoke guided tour of the museum's exhibits and a talk by one of the expert curators. The tour will provide a "hands-on" approach to viewing the displays and will include a unique Ultraviolet experience, enabling visitors to view the fluorescent properties of the exhibits. Guests will also hear about the research of the onsite Public Palaeontology Laboratory, learning how palaeontologists extract fossils from rocks and how dinosaur bones are revealed from stone. The visit is suitable for all ages and may be particularly inspiring for school-age children.
