Biology Week: Plant Health Visit to Oxford Botanic Garden

An event as part of the RSB Plant Health Series, at the Oxford Botanic Garden during Biology Week


Join the Royal Society of Biology for a visit to Oxford Botanic Garden (OBG), the UK's oldest botanic garden, home to over 5,000 plant species, for an event as part of the RSB Plant Health Series and Biology Week.

Attendees will hear from a series of expert speakers, including representatives from OBG College Garden Network.

The talks will take place opposite the garden in Magdalen College, part of the University of Oxford. Following a lunch break, we are offering a behind-the-scenes tour led by OBG Staff.

Entry to the garden is included as well as morning refreshments. Please note lunch is not provided - see our city centre suggestions for where to go in this period. 

Programme

  • Welcome - Dr Tia Salter MRSB, Senior Professional Development Officer, Royal Society of Biology
  • Talks and Q&A TBC
  • Lunch break
  • Tour of Oxford Botanic Garden, led by OBG Staff
  • Attendees are free to wander the garden at their leisure until 17:00


Who can attend?

This event open to all, but will be of particular interest to all plant health professionals including members of the RSB Plant Health Register. For more information on joining the register, please contact registers@rsb.org.uk

This event is open to all and free to attend. Advance booking is essential via the link at the top of the page.

Booking will close on Thursday 8 October at 23:59.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

This event is approved by the Royal Society of Biology for purposes of CPD and can be counted as 4 CPD points.
